Community Centers
Hundreds of residents visit the Community Centers on the Olympic Peninsula every day for social, recreational and educational activities. These centers are community treasures - they offer hot meals, a warm smile and friendly conversation to many who live in outlying communities. Bob Rosen has led the charge to beautify and renovate the Quilcene Community Center. Over the last couple of years, it has become a make-over showpiece. Thousands of hours of community help and consistent donations from Rotary, Boeing Bluebills and local building suppliers have really had a beautiful impact. Now the center kitchen has been completely refurbished — from new cabinets and appliances to a new floor. It’s really pretty. Home Depot came through for OlyCAP as well. Next time you’re in Quilcene, stop at the center, look at the kitchen and congratulate Bob. Also find two "super volunteers," Bob Bergeron and Jerry Tingelstad, and give ‘em a big hug.
