Energy Assistance

LIHEAP (Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program)

Updated 12/16/11

LIMITED APPOINTMENTS FOR JANUARY NOW OPEN

Due to cancellations and rescheduling, please check back for availability.

Future appointments will be available when we know more about our LIHEAP funding.

(Check back here often)

Welcome to Olympic Community Action Programs Energy Assistance!

Assistance is available to low-income homeowners and renters to pay for heating bills from Fall 2011 through Winter/early Spring 2012.  The assistance amount is determined by a number of factors and is not based solely on the amount owed nor do you have to have a debt to be eligible.  The award is granted once per season and does not have to be repaid.

As you are probably well aware, the federal and state budgets have been stretched and there will be less money available for LIHEAP than the past couple of years.  We evaluated our procedures and have made some changes that will provide better service to our clients.

NEW THIS YEAR:  OlyCAP will be accepting appointments for one-on-one interviews for energy assistance through our online appointment calendar.  Please read all the instructions carefully in order to make your appointment.  You must bring all the required documents to your meeting or your appointment will be rescheduled in the next available appointment slot.

Key Things to Note:

·         There will be one-on-one appointments to process applications – no applications will be mailed out.

·         You can schedule your appointment on-line up to two months in advance.

·         Make sure you have your utility account numbers when making the appointment.

·         There are three locations for the appointments.  You must apply in the county in which you reside.

Jefferson County - Port Townsend

Clallam County – Port Angeles

                       Forks
